Buying a 1999 Honda Accord EX From Out of State

I live in California and am buying an Honda Accord that is registered in Texas. Are all of the 1999 Accords 50 state emission legal or is it possible I will have a problem with the DMV in CA?

Answer:

Not all Honda Accords are 50-State emissions (California Emissions) equipped, however this will not stop a used Federal Emissions Equipped Honda Accord from passing the California smog inspection. A Honda Accord, whether 49-State Emissions Legal or California Emissions legal, if equipped with the manufacturer's required emissions components, is eligible for California registration as long as the vehicle's exhaust emissions fall within California's limits. posted by SmogTips Support
