1979 Excalibur Custom Made with 454 Corvette Motor

This car was built without a catalytic converter. I'm having trouble finding someone that will smog check it. The side exhaust pipe are real and are designed to burn up all carbon in the exhaust. THEY ARE HOT!
Answer:

Both versions (California & 49-State Emissions Legal) of the 1979 Chevy Corvette engine were equipped with one (1) OC Type Catalytic Converter. You'll need to install a CAT on this vehicle in order to get it to pass the smog test. Furthermore more the vehicle will more than likely need to be inspected by the State Smog Check Referee's Office in order to receive it "Blue Tag" indicating it's emissions system is California legal and the vehicle is a special construction. You can contact the Smog Check Referee's Office at (800) 622-7733.
