Pontiac Grand Am GT Bringing to California

My grandmother has offered to ship her 1996 Grand Am from MD to CA for me. I'm concerned about the car passing the smog check since it wasn't built to CA smog requirements. Is there anything I need to have done before the car is shipped to ensure it will pass inspection? Thank you.

You might want to ask your grandmother to get an emissions test in Maryland so you may compare the results with California emission cutscores. The website you want to access in order to find out what the cutscore for a Pontiac Grand Am is in California is below. It will give you current HC, CO, and NOx emission limits.
