My question is about vacuum lines for my carburator Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. If my vacuum lines are old, cracked or otherwise missing, what options do I have? Can I go to my local auto parts store and buy new vacuum lines and install them myself? I have a previous experience of replacing a vacuum line and being failed due to it being "tampered" with. Thank you for your help! Joshua
Answer:
As long as you do not misroute the vacuum hoses you are replacing you should have no problem. Most local auto parts stores will sell vacuum lines of various diameters by the foot. We just have to stress that you make sure you are replacing vacuum hoses exactly where they have to go. With an older carburated engine there could be many to replace, so take extra care.
