2000 Saturn SW Failed Visible Smoke Test

My Saturn passed the rest of the smog check except it failed the visible smoke test part. It already failed 2 times. Am I allowed to get a third test?

Answer:

Excessive smoke, either black or white will cause a smog check failure. You'll need to find out why your Saturn is producing a lot of smoke and have the problem fixed before your next smog check.

The State will allow you to take as many smog inspections as needed until your Saturn passes the smog test. If your question pertains to whether or not the smog station will charge you for a third test... that will have to be determined by the smog station. Most smog stations (test only) give customers one free retest. Some stations don't offer any free retests. It's up to the shop owner.
