Does a 1993 Chevy Camaro Need a Smog Check in Non Smog Check Area?

I'm looking at the Chevy Camaro and it failed emissions test but where I'm taking the car to it doesn't need to have passed a smog test. Can I still register the Camaro and get the tags and title for it, since where I live doesn't require emissions testing?

Answer:

If you are registering this Chevy Camaro in California it will need a smog check regardless of where you plan on moving or driving the car to. If you intend not to register the vehicle in California, and the state that you live in doesn't require a smog inspection, you'll simply need to check with the government entity in charge of vehicle registration in your state for title transfer procedure.

Simply having bought a vehicle from California does not require a California smog inspection. The smog check is require only when attempting to register or title transfer a vehicle in California.
