2002 Honda Accord Check Engine Light ON After Smog Check
After I left the shop I noticed the Check Engine Light on my 2002 Honda Accord was turned on. Could the smog check process have triggered the Check Engine Light? I see some info on the internet that says the smog check can trigger the light. Thanks.
Answer:
The smog check should not have turned on your Honda Accords check engine light. We'd recommend calling the smog station and informing them of the situation. If the CEL doesn't turn off on its own after a few days, return to the smog station and ask them if they can use their scan tool to pull the trouble code(s) which caused the check engine light to illuminate. Or, you can visit the smog station without waiting a few days... up to you. We don't think the smog station should have a problem with pull the trouble codes from your Honda Accords computer.
