Dodge Stratus with Aftermarket Cold Air Intake

I have a 2003 Dodge Stratus R/T with aftermarket cold air intake, registered out of state. The aftermarket intake on my vehicle is not labeled with EO or EPA certifications. I am trying to sell my car and the buyer will have to register it in California. I want to get it smogged as a courtesy to any buyer. Given it's out of state vehicle with history and parts history, can it still be smog checked and considered legal in California based on emissions?

Answer:

The buyer in California will need to get a smog inspection in CA in order to obtain California registration. The aftermarket air intake cleaner installed on your Dodge Stratus must a CARB number, also known as an Executive Order (EO) number. The EO number must be stamped on the intake unit or have a label affixed indicating it is legal for use in California.

Note: An out-of-state smog or emissions inspection will not be valid for use in California.
