1978 Porsche 911SC Smog Pump No Longer Available

I have a 1978 Porsche 911 SC with a frozen smog pump. It will pass the smog emissions part of the test, but not the visual. I cannot locate a smog pump and the 1978's strip out on removal so if I remove it to have it rebuilt it cannot be re attached. Great car. Want to drive it. Any suggestions appreciated.

Answer:

You may contact the State's Part Locator. They may be able to help you locate a smog pump for your Porsche. The locator service helps motorists locate hard-to-find emissions parts that are needed to bring their vehicles into compliance with state law. If the parts are not available, the Smog Referee may be able to issue you a "Limited Parts Exemption". You may contact the State Smog Check Parts locator by calling 800-622-7733.
