Chrysler Catalyst Monitor Not Ready

My 2002 Chrysler has the catalyst monitor not ready. The Chrysler mechanic said that this model has a known defect, and can pass the california smog test. How can I find out?

You'll need to contact the California smog station referee's office. If in fact the Chrysler mechanic is correct, and they are not able to reprogram your Chrysler's engine control computer to run the Catalyst monitor, the referee's office may be able to bypass the catalyst monitor and allow your vehicle to pass the smog check.
