Do I need to get my Toyota Camry smog checked if I want to get a PNO?

Do you need a smog check certificate for a Planned Nonoperation vehicle? I want to PNO my Toyota Camry, but know it won't pass the smog check and I won't get a smog certificate for it.
Answer:

No smog certificate is needed for a planned non op. Just tell the DMV you will not be driving this vehicle on public roadways for the near future. You won't need insurance or smog check. posted by SmogTips Support
