2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser currently registered in Texas moving to California. Do I need a smog check?

I have a 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser currently registered in Texas. I'll be moving to California. I'm not sure which smog test I need. Which test do I need in order to register my car in California?
Answer:

First off, you'll need to get a smog check in California from a California certified smog check center. Do not get your Chrysler PT Cruiser smog tested in Texas. A Texas smog certificate will not be valid in California. Once moving here you can take your Cruiser to any type of California smog station; smog test only center, regular smog check & repair station, or any Gold Shield smog center for a smog inspection. posted by SmogTips Support
