1990 Toyota Corolla 390000 miles needs spark plugs.
Is there a particular brand of spark plug that would help me pass the smog test. is there a particular type of spark plug such as iridium spark plug that would help me pass the smog test. Answer:
We highly recommend you stick with the manufactures recommended spark plugs.
Your Toyota's sparkplugs have to match the ignition system they were
designed for. Platinum and/or Iridium spark plugs may require high spark
voltage in order to function properly and produce an effective spark. Your
Toyota Corolla's ignition coil may not be quick enough to delivery spark to
any other spark plug then the original manufacturers required spark plug.
This applies to spark plug wires as well.
