1982 LeBaron - Two year smog check extension failed.

What happens when the two-year extension time is up, and the car still won't pass smog test even with repairs? What happens when the parts are no longer made or available to make the car pass, and the two-year waiver time has expired? Assume: Engine fully rebuilt, runs very well, however, the smog devices necessary are no longer available? And the two-year extension is up?
Answer:

At this point you will need to have your Chrysler LeBaron inspected by the state's smog referee office. They will attempt to find the parts your LeBaron needs through the state's parts locator hotline. If parts can not be found and your LeBaron will not pass the smog check you will have to retire your vehicle. Contact the state referee's office at (800) 622-7733.
