2005 Honda Accord Hybrid doesn't need smog check?

Do I need a smog check? I went to a smoke check station with DMV registration paper, it indicates a smog test is required, the station tech told me my hybrid is exempt from the smog inspection. Is it true? If is then how can I get DMV to change?

The smog technician is correct. Your Honda Accord Hybrid does not need a smog test. Contact the DMV at (800) 777-0133 and they should apply the exemption. Hybrid vehicles were supposed to begin smog inspection in 2010 but the California Air Resources board changed their mind last minute, and so there are some glitches with the DMV's smog check requirement system. Once you get a hold of a DMV agent or manager, they will clear this up for you. posted by SmogTips Support
