2005 Hyundai Elantra - registered in California - currently residing in Las Vegas.

My daughter is attending school in Nevada (Clark County/Las Vegas). She is licensed in California, car is registered in California and she is living full time in Vegas. Her 2005 Hyundai Elantra's registration renewal requires a smog check. I have read that a Nevada smog check will not be accepted in California. Must I make her drive to a California smog station to complete the registration? Or, would I be able to use the statement of facts so that she does not have to make that trip?

You're are correct... A Nevada smog check will not be valid for your daughter's Hyundai Elantra's registration renewal. In fact Nevada is the only state in the United States which a State of Facts form can not be used to get a smog check exemption. She will have to drive to California and get a smog inspection. One of the closest cities she can take here Hyundai to is Apple Valley, Zip Code - 92307 off of the 15 Freeway.
