1986 Volvo Turbo importing from British Columbia

I am the registered owner of a 1986, 760 Turbo Intercooler Volvo. The vehicle was newly purchased in 1986 from a dealer in Burlingame, California. At the time of purchase the vehicle met all California emission control standards. The vehicle was exported to British Columbia in 1992. No alterations or modifications were ever made to the vehicle. I have in my possession all of the original documents, i.e., the purchase of the vehicle in California, as well as the transfer of the vehicle to British Columbia, Canada. At this time I would like to give the vehicle to my grandson who resides in Hayward California. The vehicle is in mint condition with very low mileage. What is the procedure to transfer the vehicle back to California?
Answer:

The process should be as simple as visiting a local DMV office and registering your Volvo in California. The vehicle was designed and built with California emission specifications and should not have a problem being re-registered in this State. You'll need a California smog inspection prior receiving your vehicle's California registration.
