2011 Toyota Camry - Check engine light just went on.

I have a 2011 Toyota Camry with 108K mile and my check engine light just went on and I need a smog test. Will it fail? Can I test first for free?
Answer:

Yes, your Toyota Camry will fail the smog check because of the illuminated check engine light. There is no real need to pay for a smog test at this point. We recommend locating a certified smog check repair station and paying for a check engine light diagnosis instead. Typically a smog station will charge 2 hours of labor time to diagnose a smog check failure; and this includes vehicles which fail the smog check for a check engine light. posted by SmogTips Support
