2001 Toyota MR2 - CAP program has run out of money. Now what?

I applied for the consumer assistance program. Received a letter that I am tentatively approved however funds has exhausted. My question is if I apply for the 50.00 extension from dmv, and funds are still not there after the extension. Any suggestions on more extensions or can I drive my car and show my cap letter, should I be pulled over?
Answer:

You can apply for an extension (temporary vehicle registration permit), but once it expires, your letter from the BAR saying CAP funds are depleted, is not going to save you from getting a ticket if pulled over. It's unfortunate that the BAR has run out of Consumer Assitance Repair money, but this simply means you must have your Toyota repaired yourself.
