2001 Infiniti 4 wheel following last two smog inspection, the wheel sensor failed.

2001 Infiniti 4 wheel following last two smog inspection, sensor failed. Could the test itself blow out the sensor. This also happened on a 2004 Honda CRV after recent smog inspection

We're assuming you are referring to the wheel sensors for the Anti-Lock and/or stability control systems. The smog check would have not caused damage to any sensor. What might have happened, is your Infiniti's computer could have shut down input from the sensor until the vehicle returned to normal driving status (all four wheels turning on the ground). In the mean time you'd probably notice an illuminated light on your dashboard indicating a possible malfunction, however the light should turn off after driving your Infiniti for about a mile. posted by SmogTips Support
