Purchased 1981 Jeep CJ-8 out of Country and now in California, 90704. Want to sell it?

About 6 years ago I purchased a 1981 Jeep CJ -8 from a private party in Toronto, Canada. I had the Jeep shipped to California and then to Avalon,CA 90704. When selling, will the vehicle be subject to upgrading smog equipment if it did not have the equipment when in Toronto, Canada?

If you've already registered your Jeep CJ-8 in California (which we have to assume you have), then no, no additional components will be required when selling it. Having it registered in California when you initially purchased it meant you had to have smog checked it, and that it passed the smog test with the smog components which it was shipped to the United States with.
