1992 Ford Explorer 4.0 V6 Catalytic Converter Replacement.
In having the catalytic converter replaced, is there any reason not to go with the less expensive universal CAT? Other than having to have it welded on? Answer:
The lesser expensive CAT will more then likely not have the durability and life of an original Catalytic Converter, however for the price difference the aftermarket OEM CAT is your better bet.
Both will pass the smog check and function relatively the same.
