My 2008 Ford Mustang's check engine light stays on.

My 2008 Ford Mustang is having problems passing the smog check. The check engine light stays on... I'm on unemployed at the moment an collect EDD. I'm attending college for a new career. My car was do for smog in April, 2011. Can I recieved help? What do I need to do to get help?
Answer:

If you've owned this Ford Mustang for at least two years, you can apply for the State Consumer Assistance program. The program will pay up to $500.00 in emissions related repairs. Once the CAP $500.00 is used up and your Mustang still needs repairs to pass, you may then apply to VRRRM for another $500.00.
