2002 Ford Mustang has a check engine light on.

My car has a check engine light on.. i know each place is different to run a smog test but how much do smog repairs cost.. i have a 2002 ford mustang i have a 2002 ford mustang that needs to get a smog check.. it has the check engine light i am assuming it will not pass smog and if it doesnt how much do smog repairs usually cost?

There is really no telling on how much the repair in this case will cost until you have a smog check repair station extract the OBD II trouble codes stored in your Mustang's emission computer. The trouble codes will direct the smog technician to the location of the emission problem(s). From there he/she can estimate the repair and repair cost involved to get rid of the trouble codes and reset the check engine light. posted by SmogTips Support
