2001 Honda Accord 2.3L failed for high HC Hydrocarbons

How do I lower HC on my Honda Accord? I failed the smog inspection by 15 PPM.
Answer:

Hydrocarbon is basically raw fuel (gasoline). High HC is usually caused by to ignition (spark) related problems. We recommend performing a tune-up on your Honda. Inspect the spark plugs, wires, CAP and rotor. If all looks good, you want to focus on the air/fuel mixture. An engine running lean or rich will produce high HC as well.
