Is My Vehicle From Florida Smog Certified for California?

Hello. Is my Boca Raton, Florida registered vehicle, "Star Certified" for the State of California? Thank you in advance for your prompt attention to my query. Michelle
Answer:

There is a difference with California legal and Federal legal emission systems. However if your vehicle has the Federal (49-state legal) smog parts which it was originally equipped with, it can pass the California smog check (STAR or non-STAR) and register with the CA DMV. Check your vehicle's underhood emissions label to find out whether it is California emissions certified or 49-State (Federal) emissions certified. posted by SmogTips Support
